Elizabeth Warren American Indian Flap Continues

Harvard law professor and Massachusetts Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren faced a barrage of questions this week about why she identified herself as an American Indian in the American Association of Law Schools directory and then dropped her minority status after beginning her post at Harvard. Had she used the minority status as a tool to advance her career, reporters wanted to know. A long and rambling response to these questions Wednesday, in which she explained how she thought she would "be invited to a luncheon" or group of similar people, and how her "Pappa" had high cheekbones, gave Republicans "lighter fluid with which to keep the controversy burning," The Washington Post wrote. The Post found records that show Warren's great-great-great-grandmother was Cherokee.
