A little more than a year after the Boston Marathon bombings, about 11 percent of kids surveyed who were at the finish line suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD, according to research conducted within the six months after the bombings, NBC News reported. Thatโs about six times higher than the PTSD rate in kids who werenโt at the site of the April 15, 2013 attack that killed three people and injured 264, according to a study published Monday in the journal Pediatrics.
