The brutal leader of Mexico’s Zetas drug cartel has been captured by Mexican marines, NBC News reported. Miguel Angel Trevino Morales' capture removes the head of a corps of special forces defectors who created their own cartel and spread across Mexico, expanding from drug dealing into extortion and human trafficking. The Zetas cartel carried out some of the worst atrocities in Mexico’s drug war and Morales’ capture is a public-relations victory for President Enrique Pena Nieto, who recently came into office promising to drive down crime.
