Jessica Simpson: Travelling The World For ‘Price Of Beauty' Changed My Own Self Image

Jessica Simpson went around the world looking at international ideas of beauty for her new VH1 series, "Jessica Simpson's The Price of Beauty," and on Friday the singer revealed filming it has changed her in many ways, including romantically.

"I definitely carry myself different after experiencing this," Jessica said of her around the world trip with best friends Caycee Cobb and hair guru Ken Paves. "There is something about myself that is so unique that I found that I'm proud of and any man I find — they're gonna be darn lucky."

The show, produced by the group behind "Wife Swap" and "Secret Millionaire," sees Jessica traveling the world to visit countries including Japan, Thailand, France, Brazil, Uganda, Morocco and India looking at what constitutes beauty, and Jessica called the trip "inspiring."

"I think going around the world and seeing all these incredible, courageous women, it really inspired all of us to find the best within ourselves," Jessica said of the trio's trip. "I feel like I walk around with so much more pride in who I am as a woman, as a person… and I got to do it with all my best friends."

In addition to starring in the series, which premieres on March 15 at 10 PM, Jessica is one of several executive producers of the show alongside her father and manager, Joe Simpson.

And the series has at least one episode that looks at Jessica's work with Operation Smile, a charity organization that helps give surgeries to children with cleft palettes. When asked if her work with the group had changed her mind about things like reconstructive surgery, Jessica said it had.

"I am not against reconstructive surgery if it's for a woman to have more confidence," she said. "If that's truly the reason I think I would support it."

The trip brought Jessica, who last year faced criticisms over her own weight after she appeared fuller figured in high-waisted jeans at a concert, to at least one country where she was told she was too thin to be considered beautiful.

"The men told Caycee and I we would have to be in a fattening hut for… three months for them to even consider marrying us," Jessica laughed.

Jessica said the things she saw around the world have given her more confidence in herself.

"It changed me completely because I haven't always had an inner confidence and I haven't always looked at my reflection and loved it," she said. "There was always something I wanted to fix, because someone always looked better.

"It was a very powerful journey," she continued. "If you watch the show, you will definitely see my life change."

Those hoping to catch an early look at the series can log on to VH1.com on March 8 for a sneak peek of the first episode.
