Ivanka Brady?
A New York Times story published over the weekend says that President Donald Trump wishes his daughter had married the New England Patriots quarterback instead of Jared Kushner.
According to the story, Trump joked several times that he "could have had Tom Brady" as his son-in-law. "Instead, I got Jared Kushner."
The president and Brady have a long and complicated relationship.
The two have long been friends, and while running for president, Trump spoke in support of Brady following his 4-game Deflategate suspension.
Brady took a lot of heat in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election for saying that he thought Trump would make a "great" president and for displaying a "Make America Great Again" hat in his locker. So much so that his wife, supermodel Gisele Bundchen, told him not to talk about politics anymore.
He also skipped the Patriots' visit to the White House after the team won the Super Bowl in 2017, a move that reportedly angered Trump. And when Trump attacked NFL players for kneeling during the National Anthem, Brady called the president's comments "divisive."
