Armed Robbers Tie Up Couple, Pistol-Whip Dad as Children Sleep: Police

Pennsylvania police are searching for armed robbers who they say pistol-whipped a man and tied him up along with his wife as their children slept during a home invasion in Montgomery County.

The two masked suspects entered a home on the 7400 block of Rowland Avenue in Cheltenham Township around 4:20 a.m. Monday through an unlocked kitchen window, police said. The suspects tied up the husband and wife with shoelaces as their four children slept, according to investigators.

Police also say the suspects pistol-whipped the husband while demanding money and guns. They then stole a .22-caliber rifle and cash before fleeing the scene. The woman, who was left alone at some point during the home invasion, managed to escape, went to her kids’ rooms and pulled them through a window to safety, officials said. They then called police.

Police have not yet released a detailed description of the suspects. They continue to investigate.
