The head of the IMF, and presumptive next president of France, has his entire career blown to pieces over a dalliance with a hotel maid--that's a pretty good pitch, no?
Director Abel Ferrara, whose obsession with obsession has fueled a lengthy film career, has begun work on a script inspired in part by the scandal that brought down Dominique Strauss Kahn, reported Deadline. And who better to play the disgraced DSK than Gerard Depardieu?
The film may also look at other politicians whose sexual appetites either imperiled or destroyed their careers, like Bill Clinton and Silvio Berlusconi, according to producer Vincent Maraval ("Piranha," "The Wrestler"), who adds that it's too early to say definitively what shape the project will take.

The day's top national and international news.
"One thing we do know is that there’s a real common desire amongst Depardieu, Adjani and Ferrara to work together. But like every day in this business, we have to see if there’s a film there. Today, the only reality is that they are writing something inspired by Strauss-Kahn that will focus on addiction and politicians. It’s more that than the Strauss-Kahn scandal itself,” Maraval told Deadline.
