Fugitive Rapist Wanted in Officer Shooting Killed by Police

Police shot and killed a rapist who was a target of a six-day manhunt, NBC News reported.

Authorities said they shot and killed Floyd Ray Cook, 62, behind a house in a wooded area in Kentucky. Police formed a perimeter and searched for Cook on the ground and by air.

Officers searched the area for Cook on Thursday after he was spotted in Cumberland County, Kentucky, Kentucky State Police Trooper Billy Gregory said.

Cook is a convicted rapist who is accused of shooting a Tennessee police officer during a traffic stop on Saturday. The officer, Ahscari Valencia, survived and was since released from hospital.
