Former Braves Pitcher Derek Lowe Lists Atlanta Estate

Derek Lowe may have packed up his spikes and mitt and decamped to Cleveland to join his Cleveland Indian teammates, but one thing of his remains in Atlanta, Georgia: his impressive five-bedroom French country estate. According to Curbed, the former Braves pitcher, who was traded to the Indians after the 2011 season, is looking to formally cut ties with Hotlanta by unloading his Peachtree Battle Avenue mansion, which is listed for $3.495 million.

The formal dining room features a round table and an anything-butt-traditional lighting fixture. Curbed points out that unlike many of Braves teammates who lived it up suburban-style, Lowe bought right in the heart of Buckhead on one of Atlanta's most lovely promenades, Peachtree Battle Avenue.

The classy living room is outfitted with a large wall of paned glass windows on one end that gives the entire room a light, sun-drenched ambiance.

Opposite the wall of windows is a wall of mirrors. Included in Lowe's luxe property are two parking spaces, and two laundry rooms (after all, baseball uniforms get dirty, you can ever be too prepared).

This office is all about the contrast between royal blue hues and the rich warm wood colors. Unlike the home of many baseball players, Lowe's pad is devoid of any MLB themes or furnishings.

The smart modern home boasts five bedrooms total.

A view of Lowe's master bathroom, which includes his and her sinks and a sweet soaking tub that we imagine is a great spot to relax after a long day on the mound (or in Lowe's case, perhaps a not-so-long day). There are five full baths and two half baths total in the pad.

Something tells us the current Cleveland Indian didn't have much to do with the decoration of this bedroom, but regardless, it sure is pretty and very matching.

Lowe spent three years with the Braves. During his last appearance in Atlanta he was actually booed off the mound--no wonder he wants to get rid of this house so quickly.

The cigar room is complemented by Lowe's man cave, which boasts multiple TV screens, luxe recliner chairs, and a pool table.

Talk about posh. This is clearly anything but a dingy man cave.

The home comes with this wine cellar, which Lowe likely visited to drown his sorrows after some of the more horrific bad outings.

The highlight of the backyard is the awesome entertainment pavilion that comes complete with an outdoor fireplace and floor-to-ceiling curtains to garner a wee bit of privacy.
