A noose was discovered hanging from a tree limb on the campus of Duke University in North Carolina early Wednesday, prompting outrage among students and an investigation from school officials, NBC News reported. School officials said that about 300 people, including members of the Black Student Alliance, marched across the campus on Wednesday, chanting "We are not afraid. We stand together." Larry Moneta, the school's vice president of student affairs, condemned the act in a statement to NBC affiliate WNCN. "In time, each of these cowardly acts of bias and hatred will strengthen our resolve to love and support each other."
