Rescue teams rescued two dogs from icy waters in two separate incidents on Tuesday — one dog pulled from a Michigan lake, and another from the frigid Mystic River in Massachusetts, NBC News reported. Coast Guard crews rescued the first dog, a Labrador retriever, from Michigan's Betsie Lake after they saw her jump into a canal and fall through the ice, the crews told NBC News. "It was almost like [she] knew it was [her] last chance," said Putnam, who swam 200 feet through chunks of ice to grab the dog. And on Tuesday afternoon, firefighters in Arlington, Massachusetts, pulled Lucy from the frozen-over Mystic River after she ran out onto the ice.
