Algeria Military Transport Plane Crash Kills 77

The death toll has reached 77 people, with one survivor, after an Algerian military plane crashed into a mountain on Tuesday in the country's eastern region, according to an Algerian military official. The U.S.-made C-130 Hercules aircraft crashed because of bad weather conditions near the mountainous region of Oum El Bouaghi, according to Reuters. The lone survivor, a soldier, was treated for head injuries. Officials said the plane broke into three pieces at the crash site and women and children, who are presumably from military families, were among the dead.
