90-Year-Olds Meet for Bookstore Blind Date

Age is just a number and it's not holding back Miriam Steiner, 93, and Harold Sharlin, 90. The duo met for a blind date at the Politics & Prose bookstore in Washington, D.C., last Sunday, according to Today.com

Unlike many blind dates that are organized through the Internet or dating apps, Steiner and Sharlin were set up the old fashioned way. Sharlin's granddaughter, who waited on Steiner at a restaurant, thought the two would make a good match.

Steiner said it's "very unusual" that the two met, noting it is not easy to make connections as a senior.

"But we need it. It's up there with Medicare and Social Security. I hope people remember that," Steiner said.

The two left an impression on staffers at Politics & Prose, who snapped a photo of the duo and posted it to Facebook.
