WATCH: Young Trespasser Caught Hugging Neighbor's Dog

The young trespasser sprinted into his neighbor's garage to give her dog a quick hug

When Louisiana mom Hallie Mallet checked surveillance footage from her garage, she realized the camera had caught a young trespasser — but all he wanted was a hug from her dog.

Mallet saw a boy carefully set down his bike and sprint into her garage toward her dog, Dutchess, who was furiously wagging her tail. After giving Dutchess a quick hug, the boy ran back out and peddled away, NBC's "Today" show reports.

Mallet posted the footage on her Facebook page asking neighbors to help identify the drive-by hugger.

"Anyone know who this sweet little boy is? Every now and then when he rides his bike he will quickly come and love on my dog or play fetch real quick, but always leaves quick like he doesn't know if he should be here! I'd like to tell him he's welcome to stay and play, she loves the attention!" Mallet wrote in the post.

Neighborhood mom Ginger Breaux recognized the young trespasser as her 9-year-old son, Josh, according to "Today." The boy is now invited to visit Dutchess any time.
