TSA Looks to Ramp Up Security at Overseas Airports After Russian Crash

U.S. authorities are reviewing passenger plane security at overseas airports, NBC News reported.

Foreign airports where U.S. airlines operate must comply with Transportation Safety Administration regulations. But there is no direct oversight, which is a concern to some officials.

Concerns have grown since consensus grew that Russian Metrojet Flight 9628 likely crashed in Egypt on Saturday because a bomb was slipped on board before takeoff. The crash killed all 224 people on board.

U.S. military and diplomatic officials stressed that it wasn’t confirmed that a bomb brought down the plane, NBC News reported.
