Suspect Dead, Officer, Civilian Injured in Maryland Shooting Broadcast on Facebook Live

A suspect is dead and an officer and a bystander were seriously hurt in a shooting that was broadcast on Facebook from a Baltimore suburb.

The armed robbery suspect died after getting into a shootout with police from a commuter bus.

Baltimore County Police were called about an armed street robbery at the Logan Village Shopping Center in Dundalk, Maryland, about 2:50 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

The armed robbery suspect got on a MTA bus in the area of Belclare Road and Dundalk Avenue. Police surrounded the bus and tried to apprehend the suspect when the suspect began shooting at officers from inside the bus.

The shooting appears to have been broadcast on Facebook Live by a man who was watching nearby. The video shows a man step outside the bus and repeatedly shoot at police. Officers fired back. News4 is not linking to the video due to its graphic nature.

Police said the suspect died at the scene. He has not been identified.

The injured officer was shot in her leg and was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore in serious condition, police said. The wounded civilian, a woman, has non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are investigating and will review body camera footage as well as surveillance video from the bus.
