Police Search Kentucky Woods After ‘Dangerous' Fugitive Reportedly Spotted

A manhunt for a fugitive, now in its sixth day, continued in a wooded area in Kentucky Thursday evening, state police said.

Floyd Ray Cook, 62, was spotted in Cumberland County, Kentucky State Police Trooper Billy Gregory said.

Cook approached a home in the county Thursday afternoon, near the Tennessee border, and asked for a ride, but the couple refused and called police, Gregory said.

Cook fled the area when he saw a police vehicle.

Cook is a convicted rapist who’s accused of shooting a Tennessee police office during a traffic stop on Saturday.
