2 Suspects Arrested After Indiana University Stabbing

Indiana University campus police said they had two suspects in custody Sunday morning in connection to a stabbing that injured one man.

Indiana University students were told Sunday morning they were no longer at risk, though campus police were still searching for a suspect. The University later tweeted that two suspects were in custody and both were charged with intimidation. One of the suspects was also charged with battery.

University police were called to the Tulip Tree apartments about 3:30 a.m. Sunday and found a man with stab wounds, Capt. Laury Flint told The Associated Press. The victim is an IU student, university police Lt. Craig Munroe told the Indianapolis Star (http://indy.st/1ckrtoX ), and was stabbed in the back after a fight.

"We do have one victim at IU Hospital," Flint said, adding she did not know the severity of the wounds. She did not identify him further.

A message left for a spokeswoman with the Indiana University Health Hospital system was not immediately returned early Sunday.

Just before 7 a.m. CDT, the university tweeted on its official account that police had given the all clear, determining there was no danger to those on campus. Flint said a lockdown was not ordered earlier Sunday, but that everyone should heed the call to seek shelter as a safety measure.

Munroe told the Star that the victim was likely "targeted," and that police believe only one person was armed with a knife.
