Philando Castile's Fiancée, Alton Sterling's Mother Speak at Dallas Church

Diamond Reynolds became emotional as she spoke of the events

Family members of the two black men killed by police last week spoke at a Sunday morning service at a Dallas megachurch, NBC News reported.

Philando Castile’s fiancée, Diamond Reynolds, called in to the service and said "it instantly clicked to me that this was something bigger than myself and Phil” as soon as she heard the voice of the officer who shot Castile.

Reynolds — who recorded the aftermath of the shooting on Facebook Live — became emotional, saying she would have taken a different route that night and that her 4-year-old daughter, who was in the car during the shooting, is still comforting her.

Also speaking to the church via phone, was the mother of Alton Sterling — the other black man killed by police last week. A video of the confrontation between Sterling and police spawned protests across the country.

“He was a very generous guy. There was nothing you couldn't ask him for. He was very caring and very sweet remember what his legacy was: a city man," Quinyetta McMillon said.

McMillon said the family is staying away from social media and is “continuing to pray.”
