Three Party Bus Passengers Hospitalized After Shooting

At least eight rounds were fired as the bus carried a group of 60 passengers in South LA

At least three people aboard a party bus carrying more than 60 passengers were injured in South Los Angeles on Sunday night when gunmen opened fire, police said.

Eight to 10 rounds were fired near Broadway and 90th Street by gunmen who were armed with what police described as a rifle. It was not immediately clear whether the shots were fired aboard the bus or from outside.

The bus driver stopped outside the Los Angeles Police Department's 77th Street station, about a mile from the shooting, officials said.

"We had a bus show up in front of 77th Station," said LAPD Sgt. Michael Gannon. "A big group exited stating they had multiple people on board who had been shot."

Two shooting victims were in stable condition. A third victim suffered cuts to the face caused by shards of glass.

They remained hospitalized Monday morning.
