Police Arrest Man Who Lost Track of Grandson on Subway

Wiley Reynolds was charged Saturday with failing to exercise control over a minor

Police arrested a man who set off a frantic search after losing track of his 3-year-old grandson on a Brooklyn subway.

Wiley Reynolds was charged Saturday with failing to exercise control over a minor.

Police say the 49-year-old Reynolds fell asleep Friday afternoon while riding a northbound F train with his grandson, Kah-yon. They say he panicked when he woke up in Queens and didn't see the boy.

Authorities said another adult riding with Kah-yon returned the boy safely to his Newark, N.J. home.

Reynolds' report set off a desperate search. Helicopters with spotlights searched for Kah-yon near the Gowanus station where they were last seen boarding the train.

Reynolds' family did not respond to a message. Information on his lawyer wasn't immediately available.
