Man Allegedly Punched by Mexican Soap Opera Star Pablo Lyle Dies

Lyle, 32, was arrested Monday on a felony battery charge

A man who was allegedly punched by a famous Mexican soap opera star during a reported road rage incident in Miami has died.

Pablo Lyle, 32, was arrested Monday on a felony battery charge in the Sunday night incident in the area of Northwest 27th Avenue and Northwest 14th Street, according to an arrest report.

On Thursday, it was confirmed that the 63-year-old victim died at Jackson Memorial Hospital. He was identified as Juan Ricardo Hernandez.

Miami Police confirmed Thursday it was now a homicide investigation.

According to the report, Lyle was involved in the alleged road rage incident with the man and later admitted to punching the man once. The man fell to the ground and fractured his skull, and suffered from internal bleeding, the report said.

Lyle fled the scene in a car driven by another person, but a witness was able to get the license plate, the report said. Lyle was later detained at Miami International Airport.

Lyle told detectives he was in fear for the safety of his family during the incident, and said he thought the victim was going to strike first, the report said.

Police booked Lyle into jail and he was later released on bond. Attorney information wasn't available.

Court records showed Lyle was allowed to return to Mexico after posting bond. He told reporters there that he couldn't comment on the incident.

Lyle is one of the stars of "La Sombra del Pasado" and made the "50 Most Beautiful" list by People en Español in 2015.
