Police arrested a Chicago woman after she allegedly shot a man in the eye during an argument over whether or not the gun she used would fire.
Police said Joeann Smith, 52, of the 1700 block of East 72nd Street, was charged with one felony count of reckless discharge of a firearm.
The incident, which police are calling a domestic-related shooting, took place around 7 p.m. Wednesday in the 1700 block of East 72nd Street.
Smith is accused of shooting a 56-year-old man in the eye while arguing about whether or not the gun she had would fire, according to authorities.
The man was killed in the shooting, according to Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan.
Smith is expected to appear in bond court Saturday.
