Baby Born on NYC-Bound Flight

A baby was born on a plane three hours before it landed at Kennedy Airport Tuesday, officials say.

The mother, 32-year-old Vera Jaber, gave birth to the baby girl on Royal Jordanian flight 261 at 5:35 p.m., according to the Port Authority, which oversees the area airports.

The plane landed at about 8:20 p.m., and Jaber, of Jordan, and her baby daughter were taken to Jamaica Hospital by Port Authority Police Department ambulance.

It wasn't clear how far along Jaber was in her pregnancy. Both mother and daughter were said to be doing well.
