A New York City woman who ran a rescue dog training and boarding business is accused of neglecting three dogs in her care.
Georgie Cascio, who ran Cascio Canines, faces misdemeanor charges of torturing and injuring animals, according to The Staten Island Advance.
A criminal complaint says the dogs — Molly, Rufus and Thelma — were found by police inside crates with no food or water.
Court papers allege the pooches were filthy and their bones were protruding through their skin.
The complaint says none of the dogs were underweight when Cascio took them in.
Cascio told police the animals were crate-trained and if she gave them bigger crates they would pee in them.
Her attorney says there's more to the story than meets the eye. He declined further comment.
