Alabama, Florida Hit by Floods After Historic Downpour

Historic rainfall along the Gulf Coast hit Alabama, Florida, and other nearby states, turning their parking lots to lakes and roads into canals.

Mobile, Alabama, was drenched with 7.5 inches of rain. The city saw its 10th wettest day since records began in 1871, according to Weather Channel Meteorologist Kevin Roth.

In Mississippi, some residents opted to use canoes rather than cars.

The rain is expected to continue in Alabama through Tuesday.
