Police said two men got into an argument at the party. One of the men left but returned later with a handgun and opened fire into the home

At least six people were injured Sunday when a gunman opened fire at a house party in Chicago.

The shooting took place around 3:30 a.m. in the city’s Austin neighborhood, officials said.

Police said two men got into an argument at the party in the 4900 block of West Race Avenue. One of the men left but returned later with a handgun and opened fire into the home.

A 20-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were both seriously wounded in the shooting. The man was shot in the chest, back and leg and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and the woman suffered wounds to the abdomen and lower left leg and was transported from Loretto Hospital to Mount Sinai Hospital for treatment.

Four other people shot were listed in “stable” condition following the shooting, according to authorities.

An 18-year-old man, a 17-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man were transported to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County and a 22-year-old man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital.

One of the victims was Orr Academy high school basketball star Tyquone Greer, who was shot in the leg, according to CSN Chicago.

Orr head coach Lou Adams confirmed the shooting Sunday and told CSN Chicago that Greer "pushed some guy at the party and some guy came back and shot the house up."

Adams also reportedly said two former players were wounded in the shooting.

"These teenagers cannot even enjoy life," said area resident Keith Willis. "It's real sad."

No one was in custody for the shooting as of Sunday morning, police said.

At least four other people were injured in shootings this weekend, one of them critically.
