5 Places for Boozy Kid Treats (For Adults, Silly!)

No matter how old you are, everyone reflects on their blissful years as a child when calories didn't count, naps were mandatory, and no responsibility was really given… besides licking the cake batter clean off the spoon--you know, to help mom out. While we can't rewind time, we can definitely get nostalgic with some treats from some favorite New York City spots that remind us of the good 'ol days. Now this isn't your ordinary trip down memory lane, these places infuse your favorite childhood desserts with nothing other than alcohol. That's right! Ice cream, sorbets, cupcakes, milkshakes, popsicles, and even sweet buns are now all inebriated with your favorite booze. Let's take boozy trip down memory lane, shall we?

The Loopy Doopy Lounge
102 North End Ave. / Battery Park City

The Loopy Doopy Lounge in the Conrad New York hotel has introduced popsicles in a whole new fashion. They have come up with an array of ways to serve frozen fruit bars in liquor. The popsicles are made up of fruit puree and a complementing alcoholic mixer. Then, the Popsicle is submerged in a glass of prosecco. Some of the flavors include strawberry and Grey Goose, watermelon and 10 Cane Rum, and Peach and Hudson Baby Bourbon. Perfect for a hot summer day! Or, you can consider it a new version of a midday snack.

Prohibition Bakery
315 Houston St. / Lower East Side

This bakery takes the combination of cake and alcohol to a whole new level. The cupcakes are literally modeled after cocktails. Try a Mojito, White Russian, Sangria, or even a pretzel and beer cupcake--you can bet your taste buds wont complain. The bakery operates from 8pm to 2am, which aren't ideal times for most people, but don't fret. The bakery takes orders and makes deliveries, and at $2 a cupcake. How could you resist?

Cones
272 Bleecker St. / West Village

So if the word gelato doesn't reel you in, then maybe having your ice cream spiked might catch your attention. Now, this ice cream parlor is known for its awesome ice cream but what you might not know about is their flavor Johnny + Kumquat which has a shot of liquor in it! Talk about indulging, creamy goodness with a boozy flare.

DuMont Burger
314 Bedford Ave. / Williamsburg

Mostly known for their burgers, DuMont has revitalized the classic milkshake with an alcoholic twist. You may have shared this classic pastime with your parents, but now you can share them in a whole new way. Hey, you're all grownups now! At DuMont, you will be able to sample these alcoholic shakes in flavors like the Nutty Irishman which has Baileys liquor and the maple bacon milkshake with bourbon are among some the interesting flavors they are mixing up.

Jane's Sweet Buns
102 St. Marks Place / East Village

Jane's Sweet Buns have scrumptious sweet buns inspired by actual cocktails. With flavors like The Rum Runner (aged rum, brown sugar, Galliano, cinnamon, nutmeg, raisons) and Strawberry Fix (strawberries, lemon, sugar, Aperol, aromatics, and berry cream), how could you resist?! The owner Jane was a former bartender, so you can bet she has a pretty good understanding of alcohol. Just take a glance at the menu online and try not to salivate at your computer screen--I dare you.
