Four suspects are facing felony murder charges after an armed home invasion in Pembroke Pines ended with a fellow suspect dead when the resident opened fire, police said.

The home invasion happened early Friday morning at an apartment at 11938 Southwest 12th Street, Pembroke Pines Police said.

According to arrest reports, four of the five suspects entered the apartment through an unlocked front door around 12:45 a.m.

During the course of the home invasion, one of the residents, Kibwe Clark, opened fire on the suspects, hitting 23-year-old Milot Desir, the reports said.

As officers were responding to the home, the other suspects drove Desir to Memorial Hospital West, where he later died.

The suspects admitted to officers that they had gone to the apartment and claimed they were owed money by Clark, the reports said.
