"The driver was found to be unlicensed and both he and his passenger were acting unusually nervous under the circumstances," police said.

A police dog was called out to search the car and found a tire wedged in the trunk of the Nissan with "bricks” of cocaine hidden inside, police said.

The driver and passenger were booked into jail on a charge of transportation of a controlled substance, officials said.

The suspects were identified as Antonio Tzampop, 44; and Jose Campos, 39, both from Panorama City, police said.
