102-Year-Old Woman Finally Gets Ph.D Nazis Blocked

A 102-year-old German woman has finally gotten her Ph.D, close to 80 years after the Nazis barred her from getting it, making her the oldest recipient of the degree in the country. Ingeborg Syllm-Rapoport originally had been banned from presenting her thesis in 1938 because she is half-Jewish, as the Nazis expelled Jews from German universities and schools. The neonatalist passed the oral exam last month, and with the final presentation she was able to come "to terms with history."
