$100K in Diamonds Stolen in Jewelry Store Heist

Police are on the hunt for thieves who they say stole over $100,000 worth of diamonds from a jewelry store in Mercer County, N.J.

Robert Tindall, owner of Tindall Diamonds and Jewelry on Washington Boulevard in Robbinsville Township, told NBC10 that a man came into his store by himself shortly before 6 p.m. Tindall says the man wanted to see an assortment of loose diamonds.

About 10 minutes later, Tindall says a man and a woman showed up who wanted to see some jewelry as well.

"She even said to me, when she wanted to look at earrings if I could put it on her ear," Tindall said. "I told her 'no' and that I wasn't comfortable doing that."

As the woman spoke with him, Tindall says the other two men swiped the box of loose diamonds, worth over $100,000. The three suspects then rushed out of the store.

"I knew something was stolen," Tindall said. "I rushed out and they almost peeled out without the gal. She started screaming and then they stopped and let her in the car."

Tindall took out his phone and snatched a picture of the getaway car, a black Audi A4 with a model year between 2000 and 2006 with Pennsylvania license plates.

Tindall, who says this is the first time he's been robbed in his 30 years in the jewelry business, believes four people were involved, the three people who were inside the store and the getaway driver.

Police are currently reviewing surveillance video from inside the store.
