D.C.

The classic D.C. parade is always an all-encompassing experience. This year, in addition to Memorial Day, the American Veterans Center is celebrating the 70th anniversary of victory in World War II. The parade will proceed down Constitution Avenue and past the White House, ending at 17th Street. Constitution Avenue NW between 7th Street and 19th Street will be closed from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The celebration includes floats, high school marching bands, veterans, service organizations and more. Can't make it? Don't worry -- it's also televised.

While not technically a parade, Rolling Thunder is one of the most emotionally powerful demonstations you may see this weekend, as hundreds of thousands of bikers roar into D.C. to honor POWs and servicemembers missing in action. The official ride is Sunday, but you'll see scores of bikers in town throughout the entire weekend.
