Woman Shot at Fredericksburg McDonald's Dies: Police

A woman has died a day after a man shot her at a McDonald's in Fredericksburg, Virginia, police say.

Anthony Ellis, 22, fired shots at the restaurant on Carl D. Silver Parkway after 2 p.m. Wednesday, police said. The shooting happened near the kitchen's entrance.

Officers found 19-year-old Kentroyia Fletcher, of Fredericksburg, suffering life-threatening injuries at the scene, police said.

Witnesses told police that Ellis took off in a black GMC Yukon XL, police said. Police found that vehicle about 3 p.m.

About 20 minutes later a Chevrolet Silverado was reported stolen from a spot within walking distance from where police found the Yukon.

Police began searching for the truck, and the manhunt took officers to Spotsylvania County.

Officers heard a single gunshot in a wooded area near Allison and Clay streets about 7:35 p.m. and found Ellis with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead a short time later, police said.
