A man sexually assaulted a woman on a wooded trail in Bladensburg, Maryland, Monday evening, according to Prince George’s County police.

The victim was attacked in the 5100 block of Quincy Street about 6:45 p.m. The attacker ran from the scene after the assault.

He is described as a black man in his 40s standing 5-feet-8-inches to 5-feet-10-inches tall with a slim build and black and gray facial hair. He was wearing a light blue t-shirt, blue jeans and a blue baseball cap.

Detectives walked house to house in the area Tuesday evening, checking to see if anyone heard or saw what happened. It's not easy to track down a lead in cases like this.

“A lot of individuals are apprehensive in coming forward,” Prince George's County police Cpl. Maria McKinney said.

Police are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information at leads to an arrest and indictment in this case.
