A man went up to a woman outside her apartment building in Northwest D.C., forced his way in and sexually assaulted her early Saturday morning, police say.
D.C. police said the woman was walking into her apartment just steps away from the Washington Convention Center on 7th Street NW about 12:15 a.m. when a man approached her.
The suspect then forced the victim inside her apartment and sexually assaulted her before running away, police said.
Police are searching for the suspect who is wanted for first-degree sexual abuse and burglary.
The suspect is described as a black man in his mid 30s with a skinny build. He was wearing a white shirt and dark colored pants, police said.
