Vehicle Hits, Kills Woman in Alexandria; Part of Rt. 236 Closed

A woman has died after she was hit by a vehicle in Alexandria, Virginia, Thursday night, police say.

The crash happened at Little River Turnpike/Route 236 and Braddock Rd., police said. The intersection is well marked with traffic signals, crosswalk signs and crosswalk lines on the road.

Police were seen questioning the driver, who was in a dark colored pickup truck.

Police closed off the eastbound lanes of Rt. 236 for a few as they investigated.
