Prince George's County Police say a woman was killed Monday morning after being hit by a car on Indian Head Highway in Accokeek, Maryland.
Police say the woman was pronounced dead at the scene near Berry Road.
Police say the driver of the striking vehicle was traveling northbound on Indian Head Highway around 5:30 a.m. when his or her car struck the victim. The driver stayed at the scene of the crash.
The woman's name and age wasn't released.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Indian Head Highway has reopened.
