Police: Woman Grabs Gun During Fight Over Laundry in DC

A woman brought a gun - and a knife - to a laundry fight, D.C. police say.

Police said two women were arguing at an apartment building on Perry Place NW because one of them was upset that the other had taken damp clothes out of the dryer.

The woman who had apparently removed the clothes got upset and got a gun from an apartment upstairs, police said.

After threatening the woman with the gun, the suspect then went back upstairs and got a pocket knife, police said.

The victim told police the suspect also threatened her while holding the pocket knife.

Police arrested the suspect and said they found a shotgun, shotgun ammunition and handgun ammunition inside her apartment.

Police did not identify the suspect or say what charges she faces.

No one was hurt.
