Snow Way: DC Temps to Climb From 30s to Near 70 This Weekend

Temperatures are in the 30s and 40s on Friday but are set to hit nearly 70 on Sunday

A storm system sprinkled a mix of rain and snow over the D.C. area on Friday — and then it's looking like the weekend will end with a taste of spring.

Temperatures were in the 30s and 40s on Friday but are set to hit nearly 70 on Sunday.

Light snow moved into the D.C. area at about lunchtime Friday. It was expected to extend into the evening, with a mix of rain and snow, and is set to peter out later Friday evening.

Up to an inch of snow accumulation on grassy areas is possible before the precipitation moves out.

Saturday will be mostly cloudy and chilly, with a few breaks of sunshine from late morning into mid-afternoon as temperatures climb to a high near 50 degrees. There is a chance of rain from Saturday evening into Sunday morning.

Rain will continue Sunday morning until about 8 a.m. before warmer air surges into the region. An isolated shower is possible, but temperatures will be in the 60s and may even reach 70 degrees, Storm Team4 says.
