Wednesday's Storm-Related School Closings

Activities for Wednesday, July 28, are canceled at 10 Montgomery County Public Schools facilities that remain without power. This includes summer schools, camps, recreation programs and summer meals.

If a school is not on this list, it means that facility has power and all activities will be held, as scheduled. Teacher training will take place in schools and facilities that have power.

UPDATE ON SCHEDULING FOR REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER SCHOOLS PROGRAMS: In order to make up lost instructional time for Regional High School Summer School Programs, the sessions will be extended 40 minutes per day. Starting Wednesday, July 28, and continuing through August 6, students will need report to class at 8:10 a.m. Student dismissal will be at 1:40 p.m.

The following schools do not have power, as of Wednesday morning, July 28:

  • Burning Tree Elementary School
  • Carderock Springs Elem School
  • Concord Center
  • Glenallan Elementary School
  • Harmony Hills Elem School
  • Highland View Elem School
  • Julius West Middle School
  • Stephen Knolls School
  • Strathmore Elementary School
  • Westland Middle School

Montgomery College is open today; however, some day classes on the Rockville campus have been canceled due to no power. Students are asked to check college email or call the Response Center at 240-567-5000 for details on effected buildings.

Crossway Community School in Kensington is closed due to no power.
