Washington Townhouse Where Jackie and JFK Met to Go on Sale

The Washington home where John Fitzgerald Kennedy met Jacqueline Bouvier is up for sale this week.

TTR Sotheby's agent Michael Brennan Jr. told The Washington Post he's already received multiple inquiries for the Georgetown townhouse, which goes on sale Thursday.

The newspaper reports the home was the scene of the 1951 dinner party orchestrated by journalist Charles Bartlett, his wife Martha and Joseph Kennedy to introduce the future president and the future first lady. Two years after indulging in cocktails, chicken casserole and a game of charades, the couple married in Rhode Island.

The house that Bartlett was renting was built in 1895, and has been expanded to include the property next door. Brennan says the ideal buyer would view the $1,725,000 home's history as "value added."
