Wanna Be a Water Drop? (Really)

Washington officials are looking to hire people to play DC Water's mascot, a water drop.

D.C. Water is holding auditions Friday from noon to 5 p.m. at the Bryant Street Pumping Station in northwest Washington.

The agency says potential mascots should be outgoing and energetic. "Do you have talent and swagger? Can you make people laugh with non-verbal communication?  If so, then you have what it takes to be a water drop," reads the agency's somewhat tongue-in-cheek audition announcement.

The drop is known as Wendy or Wendell the Water Drop, the agency said.

"This is the first time DC Water has held auditions for our mascot. We are taking these auditions seriously, while having a little fun," DC Water General Manager George S. Hawkins said in the announcement.

People who audition will be asked to try on the water drop costume and do some acting in it. This is a part-time position.

To schedule an audition, please contact Emanuel D. Briggs at (202) 787-2003 or send an email to emanuel.briggs@dcwater.com.

Another audition will be held Tuesday.
