After reviewing additional surveillance footage, police say the alleged abduction that took place in front of a Walmart in Woodbridge, Virginia, appears to be false, police said.

Officers responded to witnesses reporting they saw two men putting an unknown person into the trunk of a dark-colored sedan in front of the Walmart at 14000 Worth Avenue Saturday.

According to a statement from Prince William County Police, further investigation revealed the individuals involved, including the alleged victim, appeared to re-enter the store about five minutes after the alleged initial encounter. The alleged victim did not seem to be in distress or make any attempt to get away from the other individuals, police said.

After about 40 minutes, all individuals involved left the store.

Detectives are still trying to identify and locate these individuals in order to confirm the nature of the incident and the well-being of the alleged victim.
