Virginia Native Skating for U.S. Men's Hockey

Garrett Roe was born in Fairfax, Virginia, but his short hockey career has taken him to Europe.

However, he will be wearing the colors of his home country as a member of the Team USA men’s hockey team for the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Garrett was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in 2008 after spending four years at St. Cloud State University. When he left the school, he was the all-time assist leader and third in points scored.

After spending two years at the AHL level with the Adirondack Phantoms, Garrett decided to hop the Atlantic Ocean and signed on with a team in an Austrian elite league. In subsequent seasons, he has played with teams in German and Swedish leagues.

Garrett calls Vienna, Virginia, home and enjoys golfing and playing with his dog. Despite having no experience during international play, he will be looking to bring home a gold medal in ice hockey to Northern Virginia as Team USA plays in the 2018 Winter Olympics.
