Virginia High School Student Accused of Threatening Florida School

A Virginia high school student was taken into custody for threatening a school in Florida, authorities say.

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, contacted the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office Thursday about online threats made to a school in its jurisdiction.

Loudoun County authorities said a student who attends Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn sent the threatening message.

Deputies also determined the threat originated from a possible address of a home in Ashburn, according to the sheriff's office.

The teen was taken into custody in Loudoun County on Friday and is being held at the Loudoun County Juvenile Detention Center pending the charges in Florida.

No schools in Loudoun County were threatened.
