Video Shows Persons of Interest in Ice Cream Truck Driver Shooting

D.C. police have released a surveillance video that shows three persons of interest wanted in connection to the shooting of an ice cream truck driver who was selling treats to children on Memorial Day.

About 2:15 p.m. Monday, the suspects approached approached the driver on the 2300 block of Skyland Place SE, police said.

They demanded money and then went into the van to pat him down, court documents say. When he objected, the shooter shot him in the leg. The criminals made off with $30.

Anyone who can identify the men in the video should call police at 202-727-9099.

An ice cream truck driver shot in broad daylight Monday afternoon is the latest victim in what's been a rash of shootings in the District since Friday afternoon. The mayor ordered extra police in Southeast but the gunfire hasn't stopped. News4's Scott Macfarlane reports from Skyland Place SE, where a robber targeted that ice cream truck driver.
