Three people were taken into custody after a broken down SUV along Interstate 66 was found with a suspicious liquid inside the vehicle Saturday.
Arlington County police said the SUV was on the side of the road on I-66 westbound near the Rosslyn tunnel. When officers arrived on the scene, they noticed a suspicious liquid in the vehicle.
In an abundance of caution, Arlington County hazmat and fire crews were called to the scene. Only one lane of I-66 westbound is getting by.
The Arlington County Police Department said three individuals were taken in custody related to this incident. The driver was later released, but two other people were being held on drug-related charges.
A spokeswoman said the liquid turned out to be non-hazardous. She expected the lanes on I-66 to reopen shortly.
