Va. Task Force One Heading South to Help With Irma

After spending two weeks helping victims of Hurricane Harvey, an elite group of first responders will leave Virginia again to help with another major storm.

Fairfax County's Urban Search and Rescue Team, also known as Virginia Task Force 1, left Wednesday for Mobile, Alabama. They will stage there until it can be determined where they are needed.

The hurricane is threatening Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Florida.

The team, which was activated by the Federal Emergency Management Administration, includes swift-water rescue specialists, canine units and other search-and-rescue resources.

Wednesday's deployment comes just one day after a smaller team of 14 returned from rescue efforts in Texas associated with Harvey.
