Two people and their two service dogs were rescued from a burning Howard County, Md. apartment Thursday evening.
Crews responded to the fire around 8:30 p.m. in the 8900 block of Town and Country Boulevard in Ellicott City for an apartment fire. There, they found heavy smoke coming from the building's ground floor apartment.
FIrefighters rescued two residents and their two service dogs. They refused treatment by paramedics and no one else was rescued. One apartment is expected to be declared uninhabitable.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
